TRAWLER WRECKED
LIFEBOAT RESCUES CREW (British Official Wireless.' Rec. 1C a.m. RUGBY, Jan. 30. After lighting against fog, darkness, and a heavy sea off Beachy Head for three hours, the Newhaven lifeboat brought ashore early Ibis morning the crew, numbering 15, of the French steam trawler Crabe, which is now lying on the rocks at Billing Gap. When distress signals were heard the lifeboat and rocket lifesaving team set out to render assistance, but the latter could not locate the vessel owing to the fog. The lifeboat ultimately got dose to the Crabe and the crew was transferred. Although the lifeboat suffered considerable damage, she regained Newhaven harbor safely.
