PRINCE HENRY ENGAGED
LONG-STANDING ROMANCE LADY ANGELA SCOTT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON, January 30. The Daily News understands that the engagement of the Duke of Gloucester to Lady Angela Scott, the youngest of tho Duke of Buccleuch’s live daughters, will officially be announced when the King has sufficiently recovered. It fulfils a long-standing romance. There were rumors even in 1927 that the Duke of Gloucester would shortly be affiancing himself to a daughter of a, famous Scottish family. Lady Angela is a pretty brunette, 23 years old, and one of the best-liked among the younger set. Like the Duke, she loves a healthy open-air life and is a good rider after hounds.
Prince Henry William Frederick Albert, Duke of Gloucester, is the third son of Their Majesties. He was born on March 31, 1900. Lady Angela Scott is a member of an ancient Scottish family which has been in the peerage since the beginning of, the seventeenth century. Her father is the seventh Duke of Buccleuch, a dukedom which was created in 1663, and successor to a barony which dates back to 1606.
