Dr. 11. Major, principal of Ripon Hall, Oxford, and editor of “The Modern Churchman,” has arrived at Svdnev, en route to New Zealand,— uVp.a! I Mr. 1). A. Graham, who was slock inspector in the Hastings district for some years, and who is now on the retired list, has left Hastings on an extended holiday tour of Great Britain and Ireland. Colonel R. Tracy-lnglis, C.B. 11., "V-D., M. 8., N.2. Medical Corps, has been granted an extension of one year in the period of his appointment as Director of Medical Sendees, with effect from December 1, 1928. Mr. R. J. Rastrick. 8.E., has been appointed demonstrator in mechanical engineering at the Canterbury Col ege School of Engineering. Mr. Rastrick is a former student of the college. He recently returned from England, where ho had two years’ practical engineering experience with the British General Electric Co., under the terms of an engineering travelling scholarship awarded bv (lie University of New Zealand. At present he holds a position in Nelson. Professor J. Macmillan Brown, Chancellor of the New Zealand University, will leave for England shortly on an extended holiday. He intends to motor quietly through Iho United Kingdom with ins daughter. He will leave the Dominion in May and return towards the end of the year or early next year, his duties in the meantime being earned out by the Hon. J. A. Hanan, who is pro-Chancellor.
