MOTOR CARS IN PAWN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.! PARIS, Dec. 30. Motor ears and motor cycles are fast becoming as numerous as the time-honored watch for the purpose of pledging. The municipal pawnshop to-day requested the Paris Council to vote £75,000 to erect a three-storey garage to house cars. Thus far 600 are in pawn, there being no fewer than 190 pledged this year. Another use for the motor car is reported from Rome, the owner selling a ear to a cafe proprietor for 10.000 coffees. The cafe is bound to provide '■offee to the seller or his friends ns often as requester!. It is calculated it will take between six and eight years to pay off the debt.
