An extremely unus.ial and rather interesting incident occurred during the s.s. Kotare's recent visit to the West Coast Sounds. While the vessel waberthed at Puysegur Point, a pe uliai' looking object was noticed in the waUv. Tiis.. mi examination, proved to he the antlers of a deer which was swimming across the Sound. The Kotare set oil ipursuit, and the animal was cut off and lassooed. It was later killed, and pro vided some fresh meat for the mem ew of the party.
