MAN SHOT BY SON
HOBART, December 11
A shooting fatality occurred near YV'inneleah on Sunday, when Mr. Stephen Kerrison, a storekeeper, of Derby/ was accidentally shot by his six-year-old son, and died almost instantly. At the inquest the evidence showed that a party of six, including two boys, motored from Derby to shoot rabbits. On arrival at Winneleah the party alighted, leaving a loaded guti in the rear of the car. Unknown to them, Kerrison's little boy, nicknamed "Digger," got into the car, and while the men were talking an explosion occurred, and Kerrison reeled and fell, calling out, "Oh, Digger." Kerrison was only 4ft. away from the barrel of the gun, md the charge penetrated deeply into his body.
