AUSTRALIAN TEST TEAM A'BECKET AND OXENHAM BRADMAN REINSTATED. (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) SYDNEY, December 27. Unexpectedly, tho Australian team for tho third test was announced to-night. It is as follows: — Ryder. V. Richardson. Woodfull. Grimmett. Kippax. Blaekie. Oldtield. Andrews. Bradman. a'Beckett. Hendry. • Oxenham. The foregoing include the twelfth man, who has not yet been named. Interest in the third test has been at high pitch, cricket writers and others offering gratuitous advice to the selector in the same liberal manner as hitherto. There was an insistant demand in Sydney'and Melbourne for Bradman's inclusion, likewise that of a'Beckett, Oxenham, O'Connor, and Andrews. The wicket of the Melbourne ground is reported to be perfect. Tho English team for the third tost will be selected on the morning of the match. f PLAYED-OUT TESTS "PLUM" WARNER'S COMMENT (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON, December 26. "Plum" Warner, writing on the question of played-out tests, says that Australia's view deserves serious consideration ; also, many are prepared to urge, that such fixtures as Gentlemen v. Players should be, revived on the Australian programme. He thinks that four days from 11.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. should be allotted to the tests, with the time of a fifth test indefinite, provided tho rubber has not been decided. "There is over much county cricket," he continues. "A reduction of the programme when the Australians are here would be welcome and beneficial."
