YOUNG MAN SUFFERS BANKRUPTCY ADMITTED (Per Picss Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “It appears that this young man lias suffered grievously as the result of the scoundrelly acts of his. father,” said Mr. Justice’ Frazer in the Bankruptcy Court. “The creditors,” sai(T Ills Honor, “have recognised the position, ami the Official Assignee is satisfied. I will, therefore, make an order for the annulment of the bankruptcy.” The bankruptcy was that- of Vernon Lvell Alev, of Auckland, a carpenter. 'Mr. Wills said his client was only 21 years of age when made bankrupt. Young Alev was working on wages when he agreed, in one 'instance, that his father should purchase certain goods from a timber company i if the ntame of Aley, jun., but since then the father continued to carry qu operations and had impersonated the son right through. Claims and accounts came by post addressed to the \ • L. Aley Co., cafe of the father. The eon never received these, and he had no knowledge of what was going on. The boy, who had been so heinously victimised, commenced to pay some of the debts from his wages, hut when he found lie was involved in transactions amounting to several liundfeds of pounds he Had filed, a petition in bankruptcy. The cfeditors had now withdrawn all the claims against young Alev, thus vindicating him. The Official Assignee Said the facts as stated were substantially correct. The matter was now before tlie Crown Prosecutor. ...
