Some uncomplimentary remarks about the methods used by candidates at the recent general elections in their efforts to secure publicity were passed at a meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power "Board. "During the recent elections candidates for political honors used our poles to paste advertisements on," said Mr. S. E. Kennings. "In some eases they put posters across the signs on the poles. I tlr.uk tho board should take some steps in this matter. I would like to know it' permission was given for this practice. J think it is dangerous." The chairman, Mr. J, W. Hayden : No permission was given and we contemplated taking action, but the difficulty is to prove who put them there. Mr. E. G. Skeates: The candidates are responsible, mid; ! think they should be written to and requested to remove all traces of posters from every pole. Mr. A. E. Greeuslade: The lirst offenders in this habit were members of the Reform Party. Mr. Skeates wanted to know if the board could prosecute if candidates disobeyed the request. It. was decided to write the various candidates, asking them to remove all traces of the election campaign from the poles.
