SOLD TO JAPANESE

THE STEAMER WAIPORI (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. The Union Co.'s cargo steamer YVaipori, now refitting at Western wharf, has sold to Japanese buyers. A Japanese captain and crew for the vessel will arrive at Auckland from Sydney by the Maheno next Tuesday. The Wnipori is -the fourth Union Co. steamer which has recently been sold to Eastern buyers, the other vessels being the Whangape, Karori and Koromiko. The Whangape has been renamed the Nanking, and the Karori the Shanghai. The Union Co.'s steamer Waibora, which was sold to a Japanese Ann some months ago, was renamed the Waihora Maru, and it is probable that the Waipcjri will be renamed the Waipori Maru.
