MEETING- OF COMMITTEE A meeting ol the general committee of the Poverty .Hay A. and P. Association was held to-day. Mr. 11. W. Coop presiding over a good attendance. The report of the sub-committee which was appointed to meet Mr. F. H. Forge with regard to the preparation of plans for the' new show ground stated that it had decided to obtain detailed plans and approximate cost of the erection of the pens and to 'have the pens erected for the 1929, show; also that trees be planted according to plans.--The report was adopted. ■ ' The Hawke's Hay A. and P. Association wrote urging that the joint recommendations unanimously adopted by the representatives of both primary and secondary industries at a recent Industrial. Conference be given effect to and that the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act be amended accordingly.—lt was decided to support the Hawke's Bay Association.

The N.Z." Ayrshire Cattle Breeders' Association wrote suggesting that all animals entered for competition, if over 12 months of age, should be registered and that the words "or eligible fin- registration" be deleted from the schedules. —The letter was received, it being remarked that there were few entries of this class of cattle at the Poverty Hay .Show.

A motion -by Mr G. H. Moriee, that meetings of the committee be held on fixed dates each month, was lost. An amendment proposed by Mr. Gillingham, J hat at least a fortnight's' notice of meetings should be given, was carried.

The secretary, Mr. W. M. Bayly, stated that he had received a verbal offer front the chief '■post-master, Mr. .W. Fisher, to postmark all letters posted at Oisborne by. a slogan devised by the show.— Thb offer was declined, one member considering the money so spent would be belter invested in newspaper advertising. A circular letter from the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand asked for a. list of men competent to judge in various classes included in the Royal Show schedule— It was decided to supply the information asked for, the president, vice-president, Mr. J. Fivers, and Messrs. G. V. Smith, M. B. TTickey. and R. K. Murphy being deputed to attend to the matter.

The meeting decided to join as a member of the Royal Agricultural Show Society.
