ATTEMPT TO BURN HOUSE
(Per Press Association.) CAMBRIDGE,, this day. A case of burglary and a deliberate attempt to burn a, farmer's dwelling occurred yesterday afternoon at Taotoroa, eight miles from Cambridge. During the absence of John Bruce and Miss Bruce, the occupants, the house was entered and two £5 notes stolen. The house was ransacked, evidently for money, as jewellery and valuables were not touched. On Miss Bruco's return she Discovered the house, afire. She managed to keep the names in ( check until t-lio return of her brother, who extinguished the fire, but not before the walls were badly burned. The police are investigating the matter.
