SHEEP DOG TRIALS
WAINGAKE CLUB'S MEET Large entries are a feature of the Waingake Sheep Dog Trial Club's annual event, held this week on Mr. S. White's property. There svas a.largo attendance of enthusiasts yesterday, and comment has been made on the splendid manner in which the trials have been conducted. Mr. M. Parkinson is the. judge. The trials conclude, to-day. The results to date are as follow: Class 1, long head and hold-in-ring (43 entries): B. King's Waif, 43pts., 1; F. Calcott's Skipper, 42pts., 2; 0. Inland's Spark. 40p15., 3; G. D. Jobsou's Nell, 31pts.,'4. A local class in connection with this competition was also held, resulting &» follows: B. King 1, G. D. Jobson 2, W. O'Connor 3. Winner of C. J. Parker Cup : P.. King. Special prizes: Best style at ring, L. Woodward's Luck; fastest head, A. Reed's Ponlo.
Class 2, short head and yard (10 entries): L. Woodward's Luck, 38pts., 1; V. Hyland's Bloke, 2; F. King's Rock, 34pts., 3; G. D. Jobson's Nell, 33|pts., 4. class : L. Woodward 1, F. King 2, G. D. Jobson 3. The Mrs. Pyke Cup was won by L. Woodward.
Special prizes: Best work at vard, C. Hyland's Bloke, and F. Calcott's Dick, equal, 1.
