When,the Minister cf Public Works, Lho Hon. K. S. Williams, was at Paeroa (i deputation urged that an immediate start should be made with the Paeroa Pokfi.no railway. It was stated that this railway would assist the development of the Ilanraki Plains by providing ;i shorter route to Auckland. The deputation specially urged the construction in tlie meantime of the first half-mile of the railway from Paeroa to Ngahina wharf.
