Similar conditions applied to all skirtings, comebacks and crossbreds. At the hides market strong values generally obtained, at from |d to id per lb. dearer. CALCUTTA TEA SALES. (Australian and N.?. Cable Association.) (Received Nov. ,18, 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, Nov. 17. At the tea sales yesterday the demand was less keen except for good liquoring sorts, which maintained the previous week’s values. Poor and medium descriptions declined 3 pies, while dusts advanced 1 to 2 annas. Average prices were: Common Pekoe Souchong, 13 annas 6 pies to 13a. 9p.; cheap common broken Pekoe Souchong, 14a. 6p. to 14a 9p.; even black leaf Pekoe, 14a. 6p. to 15a.
WESTPORT COAL COMPANY The annual report of the Westport Coal Co., states that the total profit for the year amounted to £47,499 15s 2d, while'the balance, after payment of Is per share, was £24,999 15s 2d. Out of this the directors propose to pay a dividend of 6d per share for the half-year ended September 30, 1927, and to carry £13,749 15s 2d forward to next year’s account. It is also proposed to pay 6d per 'share from the insurance account. The mines and plant have been maintained in the usual state of efliciency. Messrs. (1. L. Denniston and Crosby Morris • v retire from the board, hut offer themselves for re-election. The auditors, Messrs 0. 11. Ktatham and .1. S. Hislop, also retire, and offer themselves for reelection. *
