EYES IN SKY

•WATCH OVER DESERT LONDON, June 14. British aeroplanes and armored ears in co-operation showed how effectively' order was maintained in the vast desert area across the Jordan, telegraphs the Bagdad correspondent of the Times. Raiders crossed the Iraq frontier and attacked Syrian tribes pasturing in Iraq, near the Euphrates, decamping with 200 camels. They were located by aerial reconnaissance, and the pilots brought back the information to the armored cars, which set out in swift pursuit. The raiders were overtaken, and as they did not resist 200 armed men, with the looted camels, were captured. The men were subsequently disarmed and released, only two of the leaders being detained. The original owners of the camels are now trekking across the desert to recover the animals.
