QUEENSLAND DROUGHT
STEAMERS HELD UP. BRISBANE, June 15. Shipping in Queensland is at present in a chaotic state. The disputes on the Cairns and Rockhampton waterfronts are so serious that shipowners are refusing to accept cargoes for these ports till tDo troubles are settled. At Cairns there is a domestic dispute among the waterside waters, who have split- into two factious. At Rockhampton the watinsiders have refused to accept the decision of the industrial magistrate in favor of the shipowners, who objected to employing four men whose conduct they disapproved. There is also trouble, at Brisbane over the manning of vessels. Several steamers have been laid up.
