YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS (Per Trees Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The House of Representative* met at 2.30.p.m. Mr. J. Me Combs gave notice of intention to ask the Government whether they will this session introduce a scheme providing superannuation for all qualified nurses. Mr. 1). G. Sullivan gave notice of intention to ask the Government what it proposes to do with a view to encouraging the sugar beet industry.
Mr.,.1. Mason, Napier, gave notice of intention to introduce the .furies Amendment Bill.
Colonel Allan Bell gave notice to ask whether the Government intended to introduce the petrol tax with a view to compelling motorists to pay a larger sum towards the maintenance of the main roads.
The following Bills were introduced and read a first time: Gaming Amendment (Sir (!. Hunter), Hummer Time (Mr. Sidev), Motor Omnibus Traffic (Mr. Wilford), Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act Amendment (Mr. Wilford), Judical Proceedings (Regulation of Reports) (Mr. Eraser).
