Makura only Slightly Damaged
The Makura, which arrived at Wellington this week in a damaged condition, and was sent on to Auckland for repairs, arrived at. the latter port yesterday afternoon, and immediately went into dock. After the dock was emptied of water last night an examination of the hull showed that very little damage had been done. The only arc six new riverts and a few loose ones to be tightened. It is expected to undoek the vessel at five o'clock this evening and despatch her for San Francisco at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The passengers were landed and are staying at various hotels. They will be taken to the steakior by a special lorry on Sunday morning.—P.A.
