U.S. WOMAN AT DERBY
BUYS SHAME IX HORSE LONDON, June 15. After witnessing the Derby a pretty American visitor. Mrs. ,Ann Murdoch Powers, was so thrilled with the English turf that she impulsively pur- j chased a half-share in Eleanor Lady Tomngton's Done Knight, which' Stove Donoghuc is riding in her name and colors at Ascot. Mrs. Murdoch Powers savs: "The poor pet had no chance in the Derby because he was frightened by the people, prior to the race, pushing and patting him and shouting 'Good old Steve!'
"Lady Torrinigton and I are dividing the cups,'' she said, "but we made no mention of the winnings during the deal, because it sounded so commercial."
