Aceusod, who reserved his defence,, wa"- committed for trial. • An application was made- by the Official Assignee at Chrijrtchureh yesterday to I\rr. Justice Aekms for a ruling on tho question whether the accrued pensions of a deceased exsoldier could he used to pay his debts. I The case concerned the bankrupt estate of George Lyndou Robinson, ' deceased, of Waimate, \xko spent some time in hospital. Dut'ug that period his war pension accrual to the extent of £250. Upon his dVath he left a huge number of debts, fcujt no dependents. His Honor held th*t the Official Assignee had no claim o* the I accrued pension on account of \he J prelection of the Statute.
