LABOR PARTY'S MOVE
NO CONFIDENCE AMENDMENT (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Among the earliest motions tabled in the House was that of the intention of Mr. H. M Holland, Leader of the Opposition, to move an amendment to the Address in-Reply. The party holds a a meeting shortly when its terms will be framed. Meanwhile one indication of the points uppermost in the Opposition mind was given by Mr. P. Fraser, who asked the Government whether, in view of the serious and unexampled amount fit' unemployment, and the continual recurrence of I Ins problem in the Dominion, the Government will introduce legislation this session recognising the nghl to work, and providing for every unemployed person able to work employment at award rates, or, failing this, to pay such persons, by means of insurance as advocated by national industrial organisations of labor, an unemployment allowance sufficient for the s'lhsistence of himself, his wife, and his family, and other dependants.
