DR. CHILTON TO RETIRE
WELL-KNOWN EDUCATIONALIST (Special to the Herald.) CHRIST-CHURCH, this day. Dr. 0. Chilton, rector of Canterbury College and professor of biology at the college, intends to retire from both positions at the end of this year. His resignation will come before the Board of Governors of the college on Monday next. He will retire at his own wish, and it is anticipated that he will bo given a year's leave of absence from the end of this year. Dr. Chilton is eminent in educational and scientific work in New Zealand. His interests cover wide fields. In education they extend from the university to the primary schools, and to the W.E.A.
