WELLINGTON UNEMPLOYED
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The t'listi'ict Labor Council last night received a deputation from, the meeting of uiicmploycil held in Abel ■Smith street on Wednesday, which made the following requests: (!) That t.hoy should be recognised as an unemployed organisation and as an integral part of the Labor movement allied with the District Council; (2) they should have representalion on the Unemployed Committee set up ny the District ' Council; (.'I) that they should have free use of the Trades Hall on one niglit a week to hold meetings.
The requests were .turned down. The deputation slated .thai the object of the organisation was to induce unemployed not to lake the. rates of wages offered, hut: to go to' the Hos nihil Ronrd and demand maintenance. Mr. Bromley, secretary of the council, staled thai the body was not satisfied with Ihe tales offered, but did not approve, of Ihe altnrnative scheme.
