FOR STOCK AT MATAWHERO There was a good attendance* at the Matawhero stock sale to-day. A fairly good yarding of .sheep was offered, hoggets forming the greater part of the entry. Up till the luncheon .adjournment 5500 store sheep had been offered, under good competition, prices again showing a tendency to be firmer. Woolly hoggets sold to 16s sd, shorn to 16s, ewes (2-th, in lamb) 19s 4d, other ewes (in lamb) to 20w, and wethers to 21s Id. FAT SH£EP. There was an entry of 189 fat sheep, Bidding was good and prices advanced. Ewes sold to ]9s and 18s Bd. wethers to 21s 7d, and second-grade ewes to 17s 6d. Prices were: 17 ewes 17s 3d, 11 wethers 21s 7<l, 16 ewes (early shorn) 18s Bd, 27 wethers 21s 4d. 13* ewes (p) 17s 3d. 10 ewes 19s. 2 wethers 21s 7d, 38 ewe.s 17s 7(1, 4 do. 18s 6d. 4 do. 17s 4d, 8 wethers 21s 9d, 10 do. There was .in entry of 16 pigs, the market being decidedly brisk and the prices high. Good \orkshire weaners made £1 6s to £1 14s, slips 19s, goodconditioned stores £V 16s to £1 13s 6d.
