STEAMER ON FIRE
OUTBREAK IN CARGO OPENINGS CUT IN SIDE (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Afisn.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received June 21, 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 20. The steamer Esson, bound from Australia to Hamburg, arrived at Amsterdam with a lire burning in No. 3 hold. Despite the efforts of the fire brigade the outbreak is still raging. It is surmised that the fire started in the copra. Openings have been cut in the sido of the vessel to allow of the passage of water, but a. heavy list prevents the flooding of the hold.
