BOWLS
PROTEST LODGED Tho first- protest lodged for some time, on the grounds that the bowls used by a player did not conform to the standards laid down for the tourney, was placed before the Gisborne centre today. The game from which the protest arose was played on the Gisborne green. It is understood that the basis of the appeal to the centre was that the bowls did not bear the official stamp of the New Zealand Bowling Association.
