LAMB MARKET IN BRITAIN

(Special to the Herald.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. “The statistical position in England so far as lamb is concerned is very sound and the outlook altogether is very promising,'’ remarkod Mr. D. Jones, M.P., chairman of the Meat Expoit Board, to a feporter to-dny. Mr. Jones said he had received cabled advice of .another month’s lamb shipments from the Argentine, which showed that for the 11 months period ot its year that country has exported 10,000,000 carcases less than it did tor the corresponding period. Moreover, stocks in England on January 1 showed a material reduction from what they were at the beginning of last year. In view of tlie increased spending power in England now .that the strike is settled producers were justified in regarding the prospects with optimism, added Mr. Jones.
