CABLE CUT BY RUM-RUNNERS
AMERICAN FIRM LOSES £20,000
NEW YORK, Dec. 4.

It is stated that, the cable was cut 25 miles from San Francisco, in 300 fathoms, and was put out of action for some days.
The eablo ship Restorer was sent to the scene of the break to make the necessary repair. She found the rumrunner anchored close to the spot. The rum-runner, however, make off as soon as she realised that the Restorer was a cable ship.
