CIVIL BUSINESS (Speoial to the Herald.) TE KARAKA, this clay. Judgment for plaintiffs by default was given by Mr. E. C. Levvey, S.M., at the quarterly session of the Magistrate's Court at To Karaka to-day in the following undefended civil actions:—
Hustler Bros. v. R. Q, Howell, £3 15s and costs £1 5s 0d; Catherine Hill v. Stewart Murray, $8 and costs £1 14s (3d; G. F. Earnsliaw v. M. Lawson, £3 and costs 18s; same v. C. Owen, 18s and costs 16s; samo v. Black jHaronga, £IQ 7s and costs £1 18s; | fame v. Hen are Ruin,, #5 and costs ,15s;" sam'6 v. Rangi Puru, £2 Os 3d and ■ costs ISs; Gregory-Ltd. v. Toru Smith, £l9 19s 9d and costs £2 3s 6d; A. F. : Evison v. Repai, £-1 18s and costs £1 ; 18s; Catherine Hill v. T. Rytene, £l3 .Is Id and costs £1 16s; Geo. Francis Dell v. S. Sydney, 10s and costs 10s. Judgment was given' for the defendant in a defended action in .which Frederick Donaldson, butcher, sued John Mason Johnstone for £9 17s in payment of an account allegedly due. Mr. L. T. Burnard appeared for the defendant, the plaintiff not being represented by counsel. For failing to send his child to school, Frederick Powell was ordered to pay costs ami solicitor's fees. Judgment summons orders were made in the following cases: C. Corlett v. J. K. Brown, £l6 12s, in default 17 days' gaol; J. W. Nishett v. M. Christie, £29 3s, in default 30 days'; same v. Rita Puru, £8 19s lOd, in default 10 days'; same v. Te Rutene, £5 17s, in default seven days'; Gregory Ltd. v. Watene Peneha, £3l 15s 6d, in default 30 days*.
