TRAFALGAR DAY
AN IMPRESSIVE SPECTACLE. LONDON, Oct. 22. The famous signal, "England expect* that every man will do his duty," flattered in front of the Nelson column facing Whitehall in full view of the Empire delegates going to Downing Street for the resumption of the Imperial Conference. Masses of llower.s were heaped ftt the base of the column in honor of the 121st anniversary of the Battlo of Trafalgar. Wreaths wove sent by branches of the Navy League, including 'South Africa, also' from the British Legion and ships and regiments wliosc predecessors fought under Nelson, and from the Governments ami people of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and Newfoundland. A small bunch of violets was placed on Nelson's tomb it) St. rani's Cathedral inscribed, "To the memory of Emma Hamilton, Nelson's best beloved sharer of lus joys, griefs, / weaknesses, and sins,"
