FEELING THE PINCH
ALL FRENCH INDUSTRIES FOREIGNERS DISCHARGED _^ {Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) PARIS, Dec. 6. A big" problem in France is the fate of foreigners, numbering 200,000 or 300,000, who are likely to be thrown out of work in the process of re-valoris-ing the franc. The recent inflation gave French trade an artificial stimulus, and every trade clamored for men until it is estimated that 3,000,000 foreigners are working in France. The iron factories around France are already discharging half their men, and two of the biggest motor firms are dispensing with the services of 2000 to 3000 hands apiece. The Lyons silk factories, the Roubaix and Tourcoing textile works, and the Rougeres boot manufacturers a-re also feeling the pinch. i
