OVERTIME STRIKE
SETTLEMENT POSSIBLE (Received November 26, 1 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 26. Although the compulsory conference in connection with the watersiders' overtime strike reached no agreement, the efforts at conciliation were not entirely fruitless. As the outcome of an offer by Judge Boeby it is still open for the Watersider.s' Federation to have its claims heard by the court on condition that the men resume normal working forthwith. The Federal committee of management is at present meetincr in Melbourne. It is considered probable that'the committee will yet fall in with the suggestion of the judge to restore harmony on the waterfront, and instruct its members in various States to resume work.
