There was -a record attendance at the match between the Maoris and Cornwall, •which was won by, the latter by six point to three. Tbo Maori team consisted of Phillips, Barclay, Potaka, Falwassev, Kingi, Polham, 'Shortiand, Bell, Olsen, Dennis,, Wilson, Rika-, Tatan'a, Manihera. and Robinson. The seoro at half-time was three- all. Early in the second spoil Jago broke away, punted lightly over Phillips' head, followed up, and scored, but the try was not converted. The Maoris redoubled their efforts. Barclay, Potaka, Falwasser and Robinson were prominent, but excellent efforts were all grassed on the eve of scoring. Cornwall made a desperate effort to increase the lead, but the Maoris by superb tackling - prevented them doing so. The Maoris on leaving the field received an ovation.
