LOSS FOR YEAR
A CANTERBURY MEAT WORKS (Special to the Herald.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The statements current at present that, all is not well with Canterbury freezing companies is home out by the annual report and balance-sheet of the North Canterbury Sheepfarmers’ Co-op-erative Freezing Export and Agency Co., Ltd., which has been issued. ' The eleventh annual report and balance-sheet shows a loss of £lB7 9s Id on the year’s operations, which the directors consider is not an entirely unsatisfactory result in view of the adverse effect which the British coal miners’ strike has had on the realisation of the company’s products. Full provision has been made for depreciation, the works and plant have been maintained in first class condition. In order that the company’s position may be solidified, the report urges all shareholders to loyally support the works with their stock.
