STRONG PROTEST ISSUED OPPOSED TO LABOR TENETS (Received October 15, 2 p.m.) PERTH, October 15. The decision of the Government to carry out the execution of Treffene and Coulter aroused much opposition iii Labor circles. A large, meeting of wharf laborers at Freem,untie carried resolutions protesting that capital punishment was a relief of barbarism, and opposed to the principles of trades unionism, calling upon organised Labor throughout Australia- to register a- protest against a- Labor Government carrying out a sentence opposed to the accepted tenets of the Labor movement, and also asking the Government to re-eunsidcr (lie decision.
