MANY SECRET MEETINGS OPPOSITION GROWING (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MOSCOW. October 4. The ,-plit in the Soviet- ranks continues to grow. Many secret meetings have boon held in opposition to the Central Committee of the Communist party. Trotsky, Ziiuivieil, Badek and Pintakov are taking part in these attacks, tvhiek the.committee regard as a flagrant breach of-discipline, constituting a serious danger. OPPOSITIONISTS EXPELLED MALCONTENTS ACTIVE (The Times.) RIGjA, October 4. Communist tribunals are busily expelling oppositionists who arc hostile to the ruling group in connection with the election of delegates to a conference to be held on October 23. The malcontents are actively working. Zinovietl', Trotsky, Kamereff, and other prominent men, who, although degraded, remain members of the Communist* party and are under close surveillance. The present leaders await the conference with a good deal of nervousness.
