MANGAPAPA CLUB. The ’annual general meeting of the Mangapapa Tennis Club was held on Monday, with a good attendance of members. Air. G. S. Vincent presided. The past season was a very successful and enjoyable one, the report stated, and much interest was displayed throughout in connection with the challenge flag con. tests, which were entered into with great enthusiasm. Tho handicap singles tournament also aroused keeti interest, the ladies’ suction for the rose bowl presented by Mr. G. S. Vincent being won by Miss P. Hopkinson, who now having won the trophy for the third year in succession retains it. Mr. S. Vincent won the men’s section for the Piesse rose bowl, and is the holder until the coming season. Mr. A. Peryer, a popular member and runner-up in this section, played a spectacular and earnest game in the final. During the year three inter-club matches which were played created a greatdeal of interest, and were very much enjoyed by all. The courts are in excellent order, having been top-dreesed by Mr. Cooke. Thanks are due to the members who spent so much time on the courts during the off-season, when invaluable work was done in connection with their preparation. The annual dance was a gratifying success. The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows: Patron, Mi. P. M. Henson ; president, Rev. G. Frost; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Matthews, E. Glanvillev. and H. D. Humphreys; chairman, Mr. G. S. Vincent; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. li. Dudley; committee, Misses Stubbs, Glanville, M. and F. Torrie, and Wyatt, Mrs. Billoliff, and Messrs. A. Ansel!, A. Peryer, D. Clarke, M. F. Robinson, and I. Stichburv. It was decided to bold an official opening on Thursday, November 4.
