HANGED FROM TREE
THREATENED WITH BLINDNESS (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, tuts day. A single man, John Broward, 60, a retired gardener, succeeded last night- in hanging himself from a tree in front of his lesidenee. He had a strap round his neck. It appeared that he climbed to the top of a fence and jumped off. lie was suffering from a cataract of the eye, and was thveatend with blindness. lie left a note: “My dearest friend on earth, death sent me an invitation. and J have accepted it.”
