MIXED MARRIAGES
CONDEMNED BY PRIEST. The Very Rev. Father McCarthy, 8.M., in the course .of an address at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Auckland, condemned mixed marriages. He said: "It is.simply a matter of logic. If you eaniot join in the samo prayers, kneel at the same altar, or worship in tho same church as your life-partner, there must be a void in your life. In a mixed marriage there is always a silent but perpetual growth of religious There Ik-no misery on-tliis«earth epmparable with'-the misery "of -religious' indifference. If I was, speaking to an assembly of Anglicans or of Presbyterians I would say the same thing, I would say to them: "Don't marry a Catholic. Marry on*?, of your own.' "
