ENGINEER'S TERRIBLE DEATH (Per Press 'Association.) WAII'UKURAU, this day. Timothy John Downing, 40, a shift engineer at the Waipukurau borough pumping station, was killed at 8.30 o'clock this morning. He had evidently used a steel bar. which became entangled in the clutch of ft pump, and was propelled around, splittingi. deceased's head in two. Deatji ,wa r > instantaneous. His fellow-engineer eame jntb the pumping room Immediately, and saw Downing lying upon the floor dead. ITe leaves a widow audi fi child a week old.
