During tho year all necessary renovations had been undertaken to keep the buildings in a thorough state of repair. The bath-house talcjugs were considerably in excess ol previous years, A contract was let ut the close of the season for an alteration to the sea wall. This was carried out...by Mr. F. This year tho committee decided upon the erection of an additional sun-shelter; the building was now in the course of erection, and should be ready for the opening season. During the year tho life-saving squads > from the Gisborne and Olympic Swira- | living Clubs put in useful practice, and maintained the reels and gear in an efficient manner. Mr. A. Ji Nicol, chairman of tho committee, commented upon the satisfactory financial position of the society and pointed out that any surplus of income was placed towards further improvements. - The Mayoress said she hoped the people of Gisborne would rally round the committee in its , excellent work, which meant so much to the health of the vounger people of the town. Tho beach lent itself to wonderful opportunities for beautification, and , tho people had to realise that it was not so much for the good of the present generation as for posterity.
