YOUTH'S PATH OF CRIME
MAGISTRATE'S WARNING

BLENHEIM, tins day
In the Magistrate's Court this morning a had report was made by the police in regard to a youth. Lewis (jerald Abe.rlino, aged L 7, who was charged »with another youth with the theft of a hag of caulitlowers from a Chinaman's garden. Aherlianll in 1922 was committed to the care of the State for notbeing under proper control. Prior to that he had a record, and had been in several Stale institutions, including a special institute for boys al Olekaike. In committing him to a Borstal Institution for three years, I lie magistrate remarked that the accused was going the right way to be kepi in confiemeitt for hi.s life time. His companion in the theft of the cauliflowers was admitted to probation for twelve mouths.
