A telegram was received from the Manawatu Returned Soldiers' Football Club, intimating that, through unforeseen circumstances, they would not he able to pay a visit to Poverty Hay this season. It was decided to telegraph the Manawatu asking them to reconsider their decision as arrangements al this were well in hand.

In. the event of liip Manawatu \ i -il nut 'eventuating, il was decided to oi ganise a live-aside tournament, all names to he pooled and drawn from the hat, and Is entrance fee per man f-o provide a trophy for each man in the winning team. Any players wishing to participate in the tournament are urged to inform their various club captains. The tournament* is open to any man wishing to play; if not attached to any club he must notify the secretary of the association.
