STOLEN BENZINE
AND A LONG JOY-RIDE YOUNG MEN IN TROUBLE - (Per Press Association.) WHAKATANE, last night. Four young half-castes, Hubert, Philip and John Collier and ilira Kawiti were charged at the Police Court with stealing benzine al Edge ■name and Koto'ua. With the stolen benzine they went to Kotorua and back on a ,joy-ride. All plende I guilty. Philip and John Colliei were each tmed £lO and costs, while Robert Collier and Kawiti were remanded to appear before the 'Magistrate next week. Both the latter were lined a fortnight ago for theft of benzine from farmers' cream stands. They were given time to pay the line, when the present lapse occurred.
