P.B. ASSOCIATION AIEETING The Poverty Bay Hookey Association. met last evening, Mr. A. Oassin presiding over a good attendance of delegates. 'l'lie High School Old flirls’ Oluh was declared the winner of the senior ladies’ competition, and the chairman congratulated the new club on the success attained during the first year. Representative engagements were made for this month, and teams will be sent to Ruatorin, Mata wi*i, and Puha. The ladies will meet, the Pulia and Te. Karaka combined team on September 15.
The selectors submitted a choice of teams for the annual Maori v. I’akeha match, as follows: — Maori team: Kopuaroa (goalie), J. Brown, K. Pohatu, Airs. 0. Pore, M. Nikora, K. Hei (captain), AL Jones, E. Jlei, Kopuaroa, L. King, To Ota;* emergencies, Mini, M. Jones, W. Whaitiri.
Pakcha'team: H. Holmes (goalie), A. Wilson, It. Benson, X. Eastwood, C. Bilham, Cl. Xewey, K. Bilham, F. Hill (captain), 0. Mead, McDonald, Ryan, E. Gleave, B. Harris, 0. Johnson. It was pointed out in connection with the above teams that several prospective representatives were excluded from the teams, as one of the objects of the match was to unearth new talent for the final matches of the season. The absence of certain wellknown players did not indicate that these players had been dropped from the representative side. Fixtures for Thursday were made as follows:—
Ladies: Xo. 2, at 2 p.m., Kia Toa A v. Allies, referees Messrs Sim and Perrin; Xo. 1, at d.lfi, High School A v. Old Girls, Messrs Henderson and Olson; Xo. 2, at .‘5.15 p.m., High School 15 v. Kia Toa B, Messrs File and Perrin. Men’s: Xo. 1 ground, Kiwi v. Foresters, referees Afessrs Henderson and Pa vac.
