SERIOUS CHARGES
WOMAN BEFORE COURT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The case against Elizabeth Ann Wylie, a married woman, aged 49, of unlawfully using an instrument on three married women with intent to procure a certain result was continued before Mr. E. Page, S.M.. to-day. the Court being cleared. Allan Mangnsson, a hotelkeeper, aged 62, gave evidence. To counsel lie stated that he was not giving evidence to escape possible arrest. lie understood the police knew what he was going to say. Mr. Page said lie thought that, if an undertaking had been given not to prosecute, as suggested by counsel, it should be stated.
The Chief-Detective: Application lias been made.
The accused pleaded not guilty, reserved bur defence, ami was committed for trial, bail, £3OO. with two sureties of £l5O each, being allowed.
