REDS IN CHINA

The situation in China is the inosl critical thai has arisen since the revolution of 1911. The Central Government is threatened with extermination by Bolshevik Chinese forces. An expedition under Russian leadership threatens to capture Hankow. Marshal Wupeifu, in defending a commander, was wounded in the chest. Today the tide of battle favors the Cantonese. Defence reinforcements are l.'eing rushed from the north. Yesterday Wuchang was captured and '/Red" forces are threatening the city. British warships are rushing marines to the defence of foreign residents in Hankow and are convoying merchantmen. They threaten to lire at the fust shot from the "Red" forces.
Marshal Sunehuanfang, who is controlling Shanghai, is sending reinforcements to assist Wupeifu. There is no doubt that the Russian Soviet is largely financing the whole expedition.
