(Specla.l to tun Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day
Not every salesman lias the good fortune to put to' practical demonstration his wares, and thereby make a sale. This morning, however, a representative of a film of well-known lire extinguisher makers, when in the vicinity of the Town Hall, noticed a practically new car slop with smoke issuing from its bonnet.
He quickly made his way to the car, and, using the extinguisher he carried, soon had the little outbreak under control, saving a valuable car and making a ready sale.
