King Fuad opened Parliament. The Speech from tho Throne read by Adly was a. masterpiece of ambiguity. He said steps will be taken for the admission of Egypt to the League. Tho inauguration of Parliament was peaceful. The Speech from the Throne stated that the Government intends to enforce respect for tho Constitution and safeguard the rights of foreigners and especially aims to re-establish cordial Anglo-European 1 relations. There was enthusiastie applause when it was announced that Egypt had not abandoned her claims to the Sudan.
